textile residency
Participation in the textile residency in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, January 2020.
Organized by MAPA TEXTIL, a project of trips co-created by Milagros Alvarez Colodrero and Natalia Codega, to share the experiencing of textile techniques within their original context.
To understand textiles as singular linguistic universes that came to be within the bosom of a community, and are defined by common history and the experience of the weavers themselves.
As a way of approaching this, the practical experience of diverse textile techniques and the theoretical study needed to understand the philosophical/cultural background within each textile.
