Dejar Fluir
An exploration of wool in continuum.
From the beginning, Dejar Fluir, To Let Flow in English, considers wool from a different perspective. Wether by working it alongside other materials, or by applying different techniques, the intention is to let the material flow. The main technique applied is that of felt making, but weaves and knits are present as well, both the artisanal and industrial versions. The materials that appear alongside wool also flow; from cotton gauze to reflective ribbons, everything cohabits this experimentation.
Why wool? The geographical location of Uruguay allows the production of wool of such excellence in quality, that it finds its place among the best in the world. A mild climate, the temperature, and level of annual precipitations, all allow the growing of native pastures, which constitute the basic fodder for the breeding of ovines. Uruguay’s environment is also favorable for the health and well being of the ovine population.
